Byron Leftwich had a good game on Sunday, connecting on 23 of 34 passes (67.6%) for 237 yards with 1 TD and 1 interception. Fred Taylor carried the ball 21 times for 74 yards (3.5 ypc) and a TD, he also caught 6 passes for 41 yards (6.8 avg). WR Matt Jones caught 5 passes for 71 yards (14.2 avg). Ernest Wilford caught 3 passes for 58 yards (19.3 avg). WR Reggie Williams caught 6 passes for 47 yards (7.8 avg) and a TD.

The Jags defense held the Cowboys to 88 yards rushing and 4.0 yards per carry. The Jags were all over Drew Bledsoe. The Jags only allowed the Cowboys to complete 48.5% of their passes for 235 net yards, but, the Jags intercepted three passes.

The Cowboys are going to be a power offense.  By this I mean most of their running and passing plays will be north-south, instead of east-west.  This will be an interesting match-up because the Jags defense is also very physical at the point of attack.  It’s almost impossible to run between the tackles against the Jags, but Parcells will try it out anyway.  The Cowboys will probably try to throw early in the game to soften up the run defense.  If the Jags double Terrell Owens (which they probably will), Terry Glenn and Jason Witten will have big games against the Jags.

The Jags will spread the football around to their wide-outs as not one of them has stood up to be “The Man”.  The Cowboys defense is very tough, but “Fragile” Fred Taylor still has the skills to get outside and rip off big chunks of yardage.  If rookie TE Mercedes Lewis can play, he will add a dimension to the Jags offense that hasn’t been there in a long time……a tight end that can stretch a defense.

I like the Cowboys in a low-scoring game.

In a great offensive display by both teams, the Jaguars prevailed.   David Garrard completed 6 of 13 passes (46.2%) for 44 yards with a TD and an interception.  Garrard rushed 4 times for 33 yards (8.3 ypc).  Quinn Gray completed 8 of 12 passes (66.7%) for 129 yards with a TD and an interception.

Maurice Drew ran the ball 6 times for 58 yards (9.7 ypc).  Alvin Pearman ran the ball 8 times for 47 yards (5.9 ypc).

The Falcons ran the ball 28 times for 197 yards (7.0 ypc).  The Falcons completed 13 of 22 passes (59.1%) for 135 net yards,
