Coach Jack Del Rio said that their will be no competition in Training Camp and Byron Leftwich will be the starter.  This was a good decision for the Jaguars as Leftwich is a much better passer than David Garrard is.  It’s possible that the Jags could look to trade Garrard, possibly on Draft day as they really like their #3 QB Quinn Gray.

The Jaguars were expected big things from their tight ends but they didn’t come through for them.  The Jags tight ends caught 57 passes for 516 yards with 4 TD catches as a unit.

George Wrighster wound up getting more playing time than they wanted to give him because of rookie Mercedes Lewis rough rookie season.  He played in 16 games (10 starts) and caught 39 passes for 353 yards (9.1 avg) with 3 TD catches.  For his career, Wrighster has played in 51 games (20 starts) and he’s caught 75 passes for 692 yards (9.2 avg) with 8 TD catches.

Mercedes Lewis didn’t play well as a rookie for the Jags.  He played in 15 games (3 starts) and he caught 13 passes for 126 yards (9.7 avg) with 1 TD grab.

Kyle Brady was mostly a blocker in the running game and he did a good job of that.  He played in 16 games this season (14 starts) and he caught 5 passes for 37 yards (7.4 avg).  For his career, Brady has played in 183 games (166 starts) and he has caught 334 passes for 3,449 yards (10.3 avg) with 23 TD catches.
