Miami Dolphins 19, Jacksonville Jaguars 14
The Jaguars looked really flat last Saturday Night at home against the awful Miami Dolphins. David Garrard wasn’t his sharpest as he completed 7 of 14 passes for 63 yards and he also carried the ball 1 time for 10 yards. Cleo Lemon was awful completing only 5 of 12 passes for 69 yards with 1 interception. The Jags really played well with third string QB Todd Bouman in the game. He completed 9 of 13 passes for 126 yards with 1 TD pass. Maurice Jones-Drew led the Jaguars in rushing with 12 yards on 5 carries 2.4 ypc). WR Ryan Hoag had a solid game for the Jaguars as he caught 3 passes for 71 yards (23.7 avg) and he also returned 1 kickoff for 31 yards. 2nd year wideout Mike Walker pitched in with 36 yards receiving on 3 receptions. The Jaguars rushed for only 42 yards on 17 carries (2.5 ypc) against the Dolphins. But, they completed 21 of 39 passes for 253 yards. The Jaguars still have some work to do on offense before the regular season starts.
CB Rashean Mathis (6 tackles) and CB Brian Williams (5 tackles) led the defensive effort for the Jags and it was not a good one. The Dolphins rushed for 123 yards on 36 carries (3.4 ypc) and they also completed 22 of 33 passes for 188 yards.

I don’t know which I’m more concerned about, the Jaguars awful offensive output or their woeful defense against a Miami team that should get stomped every game, even in the preseason.

I wouldn’t be worried about either as I put very little stock in preseason results. As long as the Jags’ don’t suffer any major injuries before the season starts it will be all systems go.
