The Jaguars will be without cornerback Rashean Mathis for a while due to a strained groin.  Mathis has played in 8 games for the Jaguars this season and he has 26 tackles, 2 forced fumbles, 7 passes defensed and 3 interceptions.  Mathis is a lockdown CB and the Jags will miss him big time.  Starting free safety Reggie Nelson will likely shift to CB to replace Mathis in the starting lineup.  Nelson has played in 9 games this season for the Jags and he has 44 tackles, 1 tackle for a loss and he has defensed 4 passes.  Sean Considine or Brian Russell will replace Nelson at free safety while Mathis is out of action.  Considine has played in 5 games for the Jaguars this season and he has 20 tackles, 1 tackle for a loss and he has defensed 1 pass.  Brian Russell has played in 9 games for the Jags this season and he has 12 tackles.  Mathis’ injury will hurt the Jaguars at both safety and cornerback.
