Denver Broncos vs. Jacksonville Jaguars
The Jaguars are ready to start anew this year after a disappointing finish to the 2009 season. David Garrard and head coach Jack Del Rio are under a lot of pressure to perform well this year. The first test comes at home this Sunday against the Denver Broncos. Here is a look at the match-ups this Sunday:
When the Jaguars have the ball: The Jaguars ordinarily would like to pound Maurice Jones-Drew at the defense but he looks to be a tad gimpy as the season begins. That could mean that the Jags will go to the air more than usual this week and the Broncos are the perfect team to attack through the air. Garrard should have plenty of time to throw the ball as the Broncos don’t have much of a pass rush. Jarrett Dillard and TE Zach Miller could be secret weapons this week for the Jags.
When the Broncos have the ball: The Jags hope that Terrence Knighton, Tyson Alualu and Kirk Morrison will be able to handle the Broncos’ running game. If they can, they the Jaguars will attempt to bring the dogs after Kyle Orton. They need a big game out of DE Aaron Kampman and they are likely to get one on Sunday. The Broncos don’t have any big time receivers so the corners will likely be using a lot of man coverage on D.
