The Jaguars played good defense and Maurice Jones-Drew took care of the rest.  Blaine Gabbert was pretty solid in this game as a game manager type as he completed 11 of 19 passes for 92 yards with 1 TD pass and 0 INTs.  Maurice Jones-Drew was incredible once again last Sunday as he carried the ball 25 times for 169 yards (6.8 ypc) and he also caught 1 pass for 4 yards.  TE Marcedes Lewis (3 rec, 33 yards) and WR Chastin West (1 rec, 23 yards, TD) led the way in the passing game for the Jags.  The Jaguars finished up with 190 yards rushing on 35 carries (5.4 ypc) and they also completed 11 of 19 passes (57.9%) for 71 yards as they had possession of the ball for 30:48.

The Jaguars played great defense in this football game.  CB Kevin Rutland (9 tackles), LB Russell Allen (6 tackles, 1 pass defensed and 1 interception) and DE Jeremy Mincey (5 tackles, 2.5 sacks and 1 QB hit) led the way for the Jags on D in this game.  CB Morgan Trent (4 tackles, 1 pass defensed and 1 interception) and DE George Selvie (3 tackles, 1/2 a sack, 1 tackle for a loss, 1 QB hit and 1 fumble recovery) also pitched in for the Jags in this game.  The Colts finished up with 56 yards rushing on 22 carries (2.5 ypc) and they also completed 27 of 40 passes (67.5%) for 242 yards.  The Jaguars finished the 2011 season with a 5-11 record.

Tennessee Titans 23, Jacksonville Jaguars 17

The Jaguars just couldn’t muster enough offense to beat the Titans last Saturday in Tennessee.  Blaine Gabbert was not too good in this game as he completed 21 of 42 passes for 198 yards with 0 TD passes and 1 INT.  Maurice Jones-Drew led the way on the ground for the Jaguars in this game with 103 yards rushing on 24 carries (4.3 ypc) with 1 TD run.  He also caught 6 passes for 21 yards (3.5 avg) in this game.  WR Jarrett Dillard (5 rec, 61 yards), TE Colin Coherty (2 rec, 33 yards) and WR Mike Thomas (3 rec, 26 yards) led the way for the Jaguars in the passing game.  The Jaguars finished up with 113 yards rushing on 28 carries (4.0 ypc) and they also completed 21 of 42 passes (50%) for 187 yards as they had possession of the ball for 29:01.

The defense played hard, but not good enough to win in this game.  Safety Akwasi Owusu-Ansah (8 tackles), CB Drew Coleman (8 tackles, 1 tackle for a loss and 1 pass defensed) and safety Dawan Landry (7 tackles and 1 fumble recovery) led the way for the Jags’ D in this game.  DT Leger Douzable also had a solid game with 5 tackles, 1 tackle for a loss, 1 sack and 1 QB hit.  CB Morgan Trent and DE Jeremy Mincey pitched in with one interception apiece in this game.  The Titans finished up with 65 yards rushing on 25 carries (2.6 ypc) and they also completed 24 of 40 passes (60%) for 342 yards.  The Jaguars are now 4-11 on the year.

Atlanta Falcons 41, Jacksonville Jaguars 14

The Jaguars never had a chance in this game as the Falcons were leading 41-0, before calling off the dogs.  Blaine Gabbert had another game to forget.  He completed 12 of 22 passes for 141 yards with 1 TD pass and 1 INT.  He also lost two fumbles, one was returned 13 yards for a DT Corey Peters for a TD.  Maurice Jones-Drew led the way on the ground for the Jaguars with 112 yards rushing on 17 carries (6.6 ypc).  WR Taylor Price (2 rec, 39 yards), WR Chastin West (3 rec, 38 yards, TD) and TE Marcedes Lewis (3 rec, 30 yards) led the way in the passing game last night.  The Jaguars finished up with 116 yards rushing on 19 carries (6.1 ypc) and they also completed 12 of 22 passes (54.5%) for 91 yards as they had possession of the ball for 21:29.

The Jaguars’ D played well against the run, but they were awful against the pass.  LB Russell Allen (9 tackles and 1 tackle for a loss) and CB Ashton Youboty (8 tackles, 1 tackle for a loss and 1 pass defensed) led the way for the Jaguars on D last night.  Safety Dawan Landry (8 tackles), LB Paul Poslusny (8 tackles) and DE Jeremy Mincey (7 tackles, 1 sack, 2 tackles for a loss and 1 QB hit) also pitched in for the Jags last night.  The Falcons finished up with 97 yards rushing on 35 carries (2.8 ypc) and they also completed 24 of 32 passes (75%) for 276 yards.  The Falcons did have a great play on special teams when Kassim Osgood blocked a punt that was returned 46 yards for a TD by backup TE Zach Potter.  The Jaguars are now 4-10 on the season.

Jacksonville Jaguars 41, Tampa Bay Buccaneers 14

The Jacksonville Jaguars were down 14-0 in the first quarter to the Bucs and things weren’t looking too good.  The Jaguars then scored 28 points in the second quarter and never looked back.  Blaine Gabbert was better than usual as he completed 19 of 33 passes for 217 yards with 2 TD passes and 2 INTs.  Maurice Jones-Drew was incredible, as usual, with 27 carries for 85 yards (3.1 ypc) with 2 TD runs.  He also caught 6 passes for 51 yards (8.5 avg) with 2 TD grabs.  RB DuJuan Harris (1 carry for 24 yards) and FB Brock Bolen (1 carry for 10 yards) also pitched in for the Jaguars in the running game.  TE Marcedes Lewis (2 rec, 77 yards) and WR Jarrett Dillard (5 rec, 45 yards) pitched in for the Jaguars in the passing game yesterday.  The Jaguars finished up with 116 yards rushing on 33 carries (3.5 ypc) and they also completed 19 of 33 passes (57.6%) for 209 yards as they had possession of the ball for 32:49.

The defense and special teams were awesome for the Jaguars yesterday.  LBs Russell Allen (7 tackles, 1 pass defensed), Paul Poslusny (7 tackles, 2 passes defensed and 1 interception) and Daryl Smith (7 tackles 1 sack and a forced fumble that was recovered in the end zone for a TD by DT Nate Collins) led the way for the Jags on D in this game.  LB Colin Cloherty recovered a fumble on a punt return which he returned 8 yards for a TD.  CBs Kevin Rutland and Ashton Youboty pitched in with 1 interception apiece in this game.  The Buccaneers finished up with 110 yards rushing on 24 carries (4.6 ypc) and they also completed 17 of 32 passes (53.1%) for 170 yards.  The Jaguars are now 4-9 on the season.

San Diego Chargers 38, Jacksonville Jaguars 14

The Jacksonville Jaguars were overwhelmed by a very motivated San Diego Chargers team last night on Monday Night Football.  Blaine Gabbert completed 19 of 33 passes for 195 yards with 2 TD passes and 1 INT.  He also carried the ball 6 times for 19 yards (3.2 ypc) for the Jaguars last night.  Maurice Jones-Drew was a beast once again for the Jags last night.  He carried the ball 20 times for 97 yards (4.9 ypc) and he also caught 6 passes for 91 yards (15.2 avg) with 1 TD grab.  TE Marcedes Lewis (3 rec, 27 yards), TE Zach Potter (3 rec, 24 yards) and WR Cecil Shorts (1 rec, 5 yards, TD) also helped out for the Jaguars in the passing game last night.  The Jaguars finished up with 129 yards on 31 carries (4.2 ypc) and they completed 19 of 33 passes (57.6%) for 177 yards as they had possession of the ball for 31:43.

The Jaguars’ D got pushed around by the Chargers’ offense last night.  LB Paul Poslusny led the way for the Jaguars on D last night with 11 tackles.  LB Russell Allen (6 tackles) and CB Kevin Rutland (5 tackles) also pitched in for the Jaguars on D in this game.  The Chargers finished up with 139 yards rushing on 26 carries (5.3 ypc) and they also completed 22 of 28 passes (78.6%) for 294 yards in this game.  The Jaguars are now 3-9 on the year.

Houston Texans 20, Jacksonville Jaguars 13

The Jaguars wasted a great effort from the defense today.  The Texans sacked Jaguars’ QBs a stunning 7 times today and it really hurt the offense.  Blaine Gabbert had a rough time today as he completed 13 of 29 passes for 136 yards with 0 TD passes and 1 INT.  He was then benched in favor of Luke McCown.  McCown completed 7 of 11 passes for 62 yards without a TD pass or INT in this game.  Maurice Jones-Drew had another solid game for the Jaguars today with 99 yards rushing on 18 carries (5.5 ypc) and he also caught 4 passes for 67 yards (16.8 avg).  TE Marcedes Lewis (4 rec, 47 yards) and WR Jarrett Dillard (3 rec, 30 yards) also pitched in for the Jaguars in the passing game today.  The Jaguars finished up with 105 yards rushing on 24 carries (4.4 ypc) and they also completed 20 of 40 passes (50%) for 150 yards in this game as they had possession of the ball for 31:39.

The defense was outstanding for the Jaguars today.  CB Ashton Youboty led the way for the Jags with 8 tackles, 1 tackle for a loss and a fumble recovery that he returned 38 yards for a TD!  LBs Russell Allen (7 tackles, 1 tackle for a loss) and Paul Poslusny (7 tackles and 1 tackle for a loss) also played solid football today.  The Texans finished up with 88 yards rushing on 31 carries (2.8 ypc) and they also completed 18 of 28 passes (64.3%) for 127 yards in this game.  The Jaguars are now 3-8 on the season.

Cleveland Browns 14, Jacksonville Jaguars 10

The Jaguars left everything on the field today in Cleveland.  The Jaguars went on a long drive in the last 1+ minute to set up them at the Browns’ 2-yard line with around 10 seconds left in the game.  But, they threw two incomplete passes and fell just a tad short in this game.  Blaine Gabbert had one of his better games as he completed 22 of 41 passes for 210 yards without a TD pass or interception.  He also carried the ball 2 times for 10 yards (5.0 ypc) in this game.  Maurice Jones-Drew had another solid effort with 87 yards rushing on 21 carries (4.1 ypc) with 1 TD run and he also caught 4 passes for 31 yards in this game.  TE Marcedes Lewis (7 rec, 64 yards) and WR Jason Hill  (3 rec, 49 yards) led the way in the passing game for the Jags today.  The Jaguars finished up with 108 yards rushing on 29 carries (3.7 ypc) and they also completed 22 of 41 passes (53.7%) as they had possession of the ball for 30:53.

The defense played pretty solid ball for the most part in this game for the Jaguars.  LB Daryl Smith (8 tackles), safety Dawan Landry (7 tackles, 1 pass defensed and 1 interception) and LB Paul Poslusny (5 tackles, 1 tackle for a loss, 1 sack and 1 QB hit) led the way for the Jags’ D in this game.  The Browns finished up with 148 yards rushing on 28 carries (5.3 ypc) and they also completed 17 of 24 passes (70.8%) for 186 yards in this game.  The Jaguars are now 3-7 on the season.

Jacksonville Jaguars 17, Indianapolis Colts 3

The Jaguars dominated the Colts yesterday defensively!  LB Daryl Smith led the way for the Jaguars’ D in this game with 10 tackles, 1 tackle for a loss, 1/2 a sack, 1 pass defensed and 1 QB hit.  CB Derek Cox (7 tackles, 1 pass defensed), LB Paul Poslusny (6 tackles, 1/2 sack, 1 pass defensed, 1 QB hit and 1 interception) and DE Jeremy Mincey (5 tackles, 1 tackle for a loss, 2.5 sacks and 3 QB hits) also had huge games for the Jags.  CB Drew Coleman (3 tackles, 2 passes defensed and 1 interception) and DT Tyson Alualu (3 tackles, 1 fumble recovery) also had big plays in this game for the Jaguars.  The Colts finished up with 84 yards rushing on 23 carries (3.7 ypc) and they completed 20 of 29 passes (69%) for 128 yards in this game.

Blaine Gabbert was a solid game manager for the Jaguars yesterday as he completed 14 of 21 passes for 118 yards with 1 TD pass and 1 INT.  Maurice Jones-Drew led the way on the ground for the Jaguars in this game with 114 yards rushing on 25 carries (4.6 ypc) with 1 TD run.  He also caught 3 passes for 23 yards (7.7 avg) in this game.  Deji Karim only could manage 7 yards rushing on 9 carries (0.8 ypc) but he also caught 3 passes for 25 yards (8.3 avg) yesterday.  WRs Chastin West (3 rec, 39 yards) and Jarrett Dillard (2 rec, 30 yards, TD) led the way for the Jaguars in the passing game.  The Jaguars finished up with 141 yards rushing on 41 carries (3.4 ypc) and they also completed 14 of 21 passes (66.7%) for 110 yards as they had possession of the ball for 35:21.  The Jaguars are now 3-6 on the year.

Houston Texans 24, Jacksonville Jaguars 14

The Jaguars didn’t look too good on either side of the football yesterday in Houston.  Rookie QB Blaine Gabbert had a game to forget yesterday as he only completed 10 of 30 passes for 97 yards with 1 TD pass and 2 INTs.  He also carried the ball 4 times for 14 yards (3.5 ypc) in this game.  Luke McCown replaced Gabbert for a little bit as the rookie QB had bruised ribs.  McCown threw 2 incomplete passes.  Maurice Jones-Drew pitched in with 63 yards rushing on 18 carries (3.5 ypc) with 1 TD run and he also caught 1 pass for 11 yards.  TE Marcedes Lewis (4 rec, 45 yards), WR Mike Thomas (5 rec, 24 yards) and WR Jason Hill (1 rec, 5 yards, TD) led the way for the Jaguars in the passing game yesterday.  The Jaguars finished up with 84 yards rushing on 25 carries (3.4 ypc) and they also completed 10 of 32 passes (31.3%) for 90 yards as they had possession of the ball for 24:41.

The Jaguars’ D didn’t play too well yesterday, but they were on the field for a long time.  Safety Dawan Landry led the way for the Jaguars’ D yesterday with 11 tackles.  LBs Daryl Smith (7 tackles and 1 QB hit) and Paul Poslusny (7 tackles, 1 tackle for a loss and 1 QB hit) also got their work in yesterday.  Safety Dwight Lowery and DE Matt Roth each recovered 1 fumble apiece yesterday.  The Texans finished up with 156 yards rushing on 39 carries (4.0 ypc) and they also completed 16 of 30 passes (53.3%) for 202 yards.  The Jaguars are now 2-6 on the year.

The Jaguars decided to run the ball and play defense last night.  They did both of those things well, setting up kicker Josh Scobee to be the star of the game.  He accounted for all 12 points last night as he nailed four field goals including three that were over 50 yards!  Blaine Gabbert looked like the rookie he is last night as he completed 9 of 20 passes for 93 yards without a TD pass or interception.  Maurice Jones-Drew fumbled three times (losing one of them) last night but he also rushed for 105 yards on 30 carries (3.5 ypc).  Deji Karim pitched in with 28 yards rushing on 7 carries (4.0 ypc).  WR Jason Hill led the way in the passing game for the Jaguars last night with 4 grabs for 62 yards (15.5 avg).  The Jaguars finished up with 132 yards rushing on 42 carries (3.1 ypc) and they also completed 9 of 20 passes (45%) for 73 yards as they had possession of the ball for 36:15.

The defense was outstanding for the Jaguars last night.  LB Daryl Smith (6 tackles, 1 sack, 2 tackles for a loss and 2 QB hits) and safety Dawan Landry (6 tackles) led the way for the Jaguars last night.  CB Rashean Mathis (4 tackles, 1 pass defensed and 1 fumble recovery) and CB Drew Coleman (interception) both pitched in with plays last night.  The Ravens finished up with 34 yards rushing on 12 carries (2.8 ypc) and they also completed 21 of 38 passes (55.3%) for 112.  The Jaguars are now 2-5 on the year.
