The Jaguars have placed 29-year old DE Matt Roth (concussion) and 27-year old CB Ashton Youboty (hamstring) on the Injured Reserve List, ending their seasons.  Roth played in 9 games for the Jaguars this year and he had 24 tackles, 3 tackles for a loss, 3.5 sacks and 1 fumble recovery.  Youboty played in 6 games for the Jaguars this year and he had 25 tackles, 1 tackle for a loss, 1 fumble recovery, 1 interception and 3 passes defensed.  I would think that the Jaguars might bring Youboty back for 2012, as he looked pretty good for them.  Roth returning is probably a little less likely.

The Jaguars have signed 26-year old safety Darcel McBath and 23-year old cornerback Robert McClain.  McBath played in 7 games for the Broncos last year and he had 17 tackles and 1 pass defensed.  He has now played in 20 games in his first two years in the NFL and he has 43 tackles, 4 passes defensed and 2 interceptions.  Robert McClain played in all 16 games for the Panthers last year and he had 16 tackles and 1 pass defensed.  The Jaguars are hoping that these two guys can help them out down the stretch this year.

UPDATE:  (12/20/2011) – The Jaguars have placed Darcel McBath on the Injured Reserve List due to an undisclosed injury.  He played in 1 game for the Jaguars this year and he made 2 tackles.

UPDATE II:  (12/29/2011) – The Jaguars have waived CB Robert McClain.  He didn’t get into any games for the Jaguars this year.  The Jaguars have signed 27-year old OT Will Robinson to replace McClain on the active roster.  Robinson has played in 1 game in his NFL career, back in 2009 with the Redskins.

The Jacksonville Jaguars lose two rookie DBs for the rest of the season

The Jaguars have lost 24-year old safety Chris Prosinski (undisclosed injury) and 24-year old CB T.J. Heath (knee injury) for the rest of the year as they have both been placed on the Injured Reserve List.  Prosinski played in 13 games for the Jaguars this year and he had 19 tackles.  T.J. Heath played in 5 games and he didn’t record any tackles.  Heath is a local guy from Jacksonville State.  The Jaguars won’t miss these guys too much the rest of this year.

The Jaguars have placed 32-year old DE Aaron Kampman on the Injured Reserve List, ending his season due to a hamstring injury.  Kampman played in 3 games for the Jaguars this year and he didn’t have any tackles.  He has now played in 11 games in his first two years wiht the Jaguars and he has 25 tackles, 4 sacks, 2 tackles for a loss and 2 passes defensed.  Kampman is proving to be quite a huge free agent bust for the Jaguars.

The Jaguars have signed 29-year old DE John Chick on the Injured Reserve List due to a nasty knee injury suffered against the Chargers last Monday Night.  He played in 11 games for the Jaguars this year and he had 8 tackles, 2.5 sacks, 1 forced fumble and he defensed 2 passes.  This is a bad break for both Chick and the Jaguars, as he was getting his big chance to show what he can do, and he was playing well.

The Jacksonville Jaguars place CB William Middleton on I.R.

The Jaguars have placed 25-year old cornerback William Middleton on the Injured Reserve List, ending his season due to a knee injury.  He played in 11 games for the Jaguars this year and he had 38 tackles, 1 tackle for a loss, 3 passes defensed and 1 interception.  He has now played in 39 games in his first three years with the Jaguars and he has 105 tackles, 3 tackles for a loss, 1 sack, 4 passes defensed and 2 interceptions.  The Jaguars keep losing players in the secondary, so losing Middleton is going to hurt.

The Jaguars have placed 25-year old safety Courtney Greene on the Injured Reserve List, ending his season due to a hamstring injury.  Greene played in 7 games for the Jaguars this year and he had 10 tackles.  He has now played in 30 games in his first three years with the Jaguars and he has 93 tackles, 2 tackles for a loss, 1 forced fumble, 1 fumble recovery, 1 interception and 7 passes defensed.  This will hurt the Jags’ depth at safety.

The Jaguars have placed 27-year old linebacker Clint Session on the Injured Reserve List due to a head injury he suffered last weekend against the Browns.  Session played in 9 games for the Jags this year and he had 30 tackles, 1 sack, 2 tackles for a loss and 1 forced fumble.  He has now played in 57 games in his first five years in the NFL and he has 291 tackles, 2.5 sacks, 20 tackles for a loss, 8 passes defensed, 6 forced fumbles and 4 interceptions (one returned for a TD).  This is a big loss for the Jaguars as Session has helped them improve on D in 2011.
