The Jacksonville Jaguars re-sign Todd Bouman

Blogged under Bloglockers,Free Agent Additions,Front Page,General,Injury Reports,Jaguar Headlines by admin on Saturday 18 December 2010 at 1:02 am

The Jaguars have re-signed 38-year old QB Todd Bouman.  Bouman played in 1 game earlier this year for the Jaguars and he completed 18 of 34 passes (52.9%) for 222 yards with 2 TD passes and 2 INTs (68.5 QB Rating).  He also carried the ball 2 times for 8 yards (4.0 ypc) for the Jags this year.  With David Garrard a little gimpy due to a sore hamstring the Jags wanted another QB behind him along with Trent Edwards.  To make room on the roster for Bouman, they have placed 25-year old CB Terrence Wheatley on I.R.  Wheatley played in 1 game for the Jags this year and he didn’t make any tackles.

The Jacksonville Jaguars will be without Courtney Greene this weekend

Blogged under Bloglockers,Front Page,General,Injury Reports,Jaguar Headlines,Needs to Step Up by admin on Tuesday 7 December 2010 at 9:37 pm

The Jaguars will be without 24-year old strong safety Courtney Greene this weekend against the Raiders due to a shoulder injury.  Greene has played in 12 games for the Jaguars so far this year and he has 64 tackles, 2 tackles for a loss, 3 passes defensed, 1 interception, 1 fumble recovery and 1 forced fumble.  27-year old Sean Considine will replace Greene in the starting lineup while he is out of action.  Considine has played in 10 games for the Jags so far this year and he has 38 tackles, 1 sack, 3 passes defensed, 1 interception, 1 forced fumble and 1 fumble recovery.  The Jaguars need Considine to play well this weekend as the game with the Raiders is a HUGE one.

The Jacksonville Jaguars lose Jacob Cutrera for the year

Blogged under Bloglockers,Front Page,General,Injury Reports by admin on Thursday 2 December 2010 at 6:03 pm

The Jaguars have placed 22-year old linebacker Jacob Cutrera on the Injured Reserve List ending his season due to a severe concussion.  Cutrera played in 8 games for the Jaguars this season and he had 4 tackles.  The undrafted Cutrera out of LSU worked his butt off to make the Jaguars so this is a bad break for him.

The Jacksonville Jaguars lose Aaron Kampman for the rest of the year

Blogged under Bloglockers,Front Page,Injury Reports,Jaguar Headlines,Needs to Step Up by admin on Saturday 13 November 2010 at 1:09 pm

30-year old starting DE Aaron Kampman tore his right ACL last Thursday at practice ending his 2010 season.  Kampman played in 8 games for the Jaguars this year and he had 25 tackles, 4 sacks, 2 tackles for a loss and 2 passes defensed.  This is a huge blow to the Jaguars’ defense.  The Jaguars will turn back to Derrick Harvey, a former first round pick (2008), to replace Kampman in the starting lineup.  Harvey has played in 8 games this year for the Jags and he has 6 tackles, 1/2 a sack and 1 pass defensed.  He has now played in 40 games in his first three years with the Jaguars and he has 82 tackles, 5 passes defensed, 6 sacks and 1 interception.

The Jacksonville Jaguars lose OT Eben Britton for the year

Blogged under Bloglockers,Front Page,Injury Reports,Jaguar Headlines by admin on Wednesday 27 October 2010 at 1:55 pm

The Jaguars have lost 23-year old OT Eben Britton for the season due to a torn labrum in his shoulder.  Britton played in 7 games (all starts) for the Jaguars this year.  He has now played in 22 games (22 starts) in his first two years in the NFL and he is a building block for the Jaguars’ O-Line.  This injury really hurts as Britton is a up and coming talent and the running game will suffer the most from his absence.

The Jacksonville Jaguars could be without their top two QBs this Sunday

Blogged under Bloglockers,Front Page,Injury Reports,Jaguar Headlines by admin on Wednesday 20 October 2010 at 4:37 pm

32-year old starting QB David Garrard suffered a concussion Monday Night against the Titans and he has not returned to the practice field yet.  I don’t see him playing this weekend against the Chiefs.  Garrard has played in 6 games for the Jags so far this year and he has completed 84 of 128 passes (65.6%) for 838 yards with 9 TD passes and 7 INTs (84.7 QB Rating).  Garrard also has carried the ball 23 times for 94 yards (4.1 ypc) with 1 TD run so far this year.  Garrard has been very up and down so far this year but he’s still without a doubt the best QB the Jaguars have.

27-year old Trent Edwards injured his right thumb pretty badly against the Titans but he still finished up the game.  Edwards has played in 1 game for the Jaguars this year and he has completed 14 of 24 passes (58.3%) for 140 yards with 0 TD passes and 2 INTs (40.3 QB Rating).  Edwards has also carried the ball 5 times for 16 yards (3.2 ypc) this year for the Jags.  Edwards has been at practice this week but his thumb has been heavily wrapped up.  I have a feeling that he won’t be playing either this weekend.

The Jacksonville Jaguars lose Luke McCown for the season

Blogged under Bloglockers,Front Page,Injury Reports,Jaguar Headlines by admin on Monday 20 September 2010 at 10:08 pm

The Jaguars have lost backup QB Luke McCown for the rest of the year after he tore his right ACL against the Chargers yesterday.  McCown completed 11 of 19 passes (57.9%) for 120 yards with 0 TD passes and 0 INTs (76.6 QB Rating) yesterday.  He also carried the ball 1 time for 4 yards for the Jags this year.  This sucks for the Jaguars who really don’t have anyone behind David Garrard right now.

The Jacksonville Jaguars place Jarrett Dillard on I.R.

Blogged under Bloglockers,Front Page,Injury Reports,Jaguar Headlines by admin on Tuesday 14 September 2010 at 9:11 pm

The Jaguars have placed second year WR Jarrett Dillard on the Injured Reserve List with a toe injury which will end his season.  Dillard played in 6 games as a rookie for the Jaguars last season and he caught 6 passes for 106 yards (17.7 avg).  He came into this season as the Jags’ #3 WR.  Kassim Osgood will duke it out with 2nd year WR Tiquan Underwood to see who will be the new #3 WR for the Jags.  Osgood caught 1 pass in the season opener and it went for a 24 yard TD.  Part of the reason he signed with the Jaguars is because they were going to give him P.T. at WR so I think he has the edge over Underwood who has played in 3 games in his NFL career without catching any passes.

The Jacksonville Jaguars lose Deji Karim for the rest of the pre-season

Blogged under Bloglockers,Front Page,Injury Reports,Jaguar Headlines,The Draft Report by admin on Wednesday 25 August 2010 at 4:26 pm

Rookie 6th round pick (RB) Deji Karim will miss the rest of the pre-season due to surgery on his left thumb.  Karim played in the first two pre-season games for the Jaguars in which he carried the ball 2 times for 9 yards (4.5 ypc) and he caught 2 passes for 5 yards (2.5 avg).  Karim was outstanding on kickoff returns as he returned 9 of them for 295 yards (32.8 avg).  That is where he will be missed the most.

The Jacksonville Jaguars place Freddie Keiaho on I.R.

Blogged under Bloglockers,Front Page,Injury Reports,Jaguar Headlines by admin on Saturday 21 August 2010 at 11:31 am

The Jaguars have placed 27-year old linebacker Freddie Keiaho on the Injured Reserve List ending his season due to a severe concussion.  Keiaho looked pretty good in the pre-season opener against the Eagles when he had 5 tackles.  He played in 16 games (2 starts) with the Colts last season and he had 38 tackles, 1 sack and 1 pass defensed.  This a blow to the linebacker depth on the Jaguars as they liked Keiaho.
