The over/under for Jacksonville Jaguars wins in 2011 is six. Yesterday I would have suggested to take the over, but things have changed. I think that cutting David Garrard pretty much guarantees that the Jags are in rebuilding mode. I’m sure that a lot of offensive players are in shock, as Garrard has been the starting QB for a long time. I don’t thin the Jaguars are going to win more than six games in 2011, so take the under.
The Jaguars finished 7-9 last season as they lost their last 4 games of the year to get there. I have a feeling that they will be more motivated this season and will avoid a late season fade in 2010. I’m not saying they will be a playoff team in 2010, because they won’t. But 7 or 8 wins is very possible which is why I would take the over. They are 85-1 to win the Super Bowl in 2010 and I don’t even think I would bet $1 on that happening.
The Jaguars appear to be a team on the rise in the AFC and I think they will not only win more than 10 games but I think they will dethrone the Colts as division champs. Book it, the Jaguars will be a serious Super Bowl Contender in 2008.
The Jaguars have a fantastic defense and a unbelievable running game on offense but it’s still hard for me to pull the trigger on the over. David Garrard has never proven that he can make a big throw when it counts and the Jags still have a lousy receiving corps so I have big doubts that they can sustain big-time success. I prefer not to take either the over or the under because I see the Jags being a 9 win type of team.
